pleasure practices

Pleasure is health.

The Kama method is a simple daily practice designed to recondition our mind, body, and heart to maximise pleasure. Our holistic approach combines scientific learnings around the following:

Neuroplasticity

Recent research in neuroplasticity, which is the brain's ability to move, change, and heal, has shown that we can create new neural patterns and behaviours with intentional, repetitive practice. This allows us to shift pain towards pleasure.

Psychosexuality

How we think and feel profoundly impacts our experiences of sexuality and pleasure. By reframing our perceptions and building a strong self-awareness, we can create sensual and sexual experiences which align with our true desires.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic Awareness is the ability to be present with our sensations, senses, emotions, and thoughts. At its core is interoceptive awareness, the practice of sensing from inside the body, which deepens our access to pleasure and supports self-healing.

Ancient Wisdom

For thousands of years, cultures around the world have been harnessing sexual pleasure for their health and vitality. Sexual energy is life force. When we learn to cultivate it rather than suppress it, it flows into every part of our lives. Kama draws on these traditions to offer a whole-person approach to wellbeing.

Chloé Macintosh

Chloé Macintosh has been researching the fields of intimacy and relationships for more than twenty years. Born in France, she grew up in a culture where sexuality was not spoken about. It was when she moved to the UK and became pregnant with her first son that she went looking for honest, grounded guidance on sexuality, and found almost nothing. Understanding what is in the way of more pleasure and connection in our lives became her life's mission.

She spent fifteen years building companies. After working as an architect for Norman Foster, she co-founded Made.com and became Chief Creative Officer of Soho House Group. Throughout her career she continued to see how the lack of a trusted place for people to understand their own desire was a huge opportunity to bring something new to market.

In 2020, she launched Kama, a platform for sexual exploration and education. Since then it has reached over two million people and become one of the world's most downloaded apps for sexual wellbeing.

Kama started with her own practice. The exercises she shares have all been tested on herself, her clients, and her community. The frameworks come from years of personal exploration, working with experts and diverse groups of people. It is about embodiment, learning from experience, and learning from others.

My daily pleasure practice is an essential part of my wellbeing. Pleasure is not just a reward, it is a process for the body that regulates our nervous system for deeper connection.
